       Portrait is the representation of  a person. The artist tries to depict the person in detail, i.e to express every bit of the personality with striking resemblance. Renaissance painting studied the human body and the different perspectives and developed portrait paintings' Monalisa by Leonardo da Vinci is the most famous portrait painting till date. The European painter also attained success in creating vivid and realistic self portraits Van Gogh's Self Portrait is a masterpiece of portrait painting.
